Jena Sawyer is a strategic People and HR leader with extensive experience helping organizations build the people practices, leadership capability, and organizational clarity needed to grow successfully. She has worked with start-ups, scaling businesses, and established organizations across a variety of industries, including technology, telecom, financial services, education, manufacturing, and professional services. Her experience includes building HR functions from the ground up, strengthening existing people operations, and partnering with leaders through periods of growth, change, and complexity.
Jena’s areas of expertise include HR strategy, organizational development, leadership development, performance management, employee engagement, talent development, and employee lifecycle practices. She is especially passionate about helping leaders create workplaces where people feel valued and supported while also establishing the clarity, accountability, and practical structure needed to deliver strong business results. Her approach combines strategic thinking with a pragmatic understanding of the foundational HR practices that allow organizations to operate effectively.
Jena has held senior and executive People and Human Resources leadership roles with ACI Learning, Neat Capital, Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design, Modern Family Law, and Playtime. She has supported organizations ranging from entrepreneurial start-ups to multi-state and global businesses. Her work has included building and scaling HR infrastructure, coaching leaders, developing manager training and tools, improving performance and feedback processes, supporting organizational change, and aligning people practices with business priorities.
Jena is an SPHR-certified HR professional and a trained leadership coach. She is also certified in The Leadership Circle Profile and Emergenetics and enjoys helping leaders better understand their impact, build on their strengths, and navigate challenges with greater awareness and intention.
Jena is based in the Denver, Colorado area. Outside of work, she enjoys connecting with friends and family, hiking, yoga, horses, and exploring Colorado’s mountains.
